Franchise
500®:
AAMCO Top Ranked for 2006
BALA
CYNWYD, PA (December 2005)—Entrepreneur
Magazine
gave high marks to AAMCO Transmissions Inc. in its
27th annual Franchise 500®
issue, rating the company as the number one
franchise in transmission repair for the 27th
consecutive year, and third overall in the
automotive aftermarket. The latter is an
indication of AAMCO’s presence in the market for
complete car care after successfully expanding its
service line in early 2004. Both standings signal
AAMCO’s growing market share in a new service
area, and are also proof of the company’s
ability to simultaneously maintain the leading
position in its industry which its held for 43
years.
AAMCO
has long held a reputation for quality,
excellence, and especially one for technical
expertise—a necessity for repairing the
transmission, arguably the most complicated system
in a vehicle. With a brand name recognition rate
of over 90%, award-winning advertising, and over
25 million serviced customers, it is no surprise
that AAMCO has a stronghold on the transmission
repair industry.
The
company’s smooth entry into the burgeoning,
relationship-based “we do it all” service
repair market has proven to be a strong new
direction of growth. Based on publicly available
information, AAMCO currently has the highest per
store revenue of any franchise in the automotive
aftermarket. Moreover, in comparison to the two
franchises ranked above AAMCO in this category,
the start-up costs for AAMCO are between 20% and
100% lower. Such achievements have not come by
chance, as AAMCO’s Chairman and CEO, Keith
Morgan, says.
“We’ve
worked hard to make sure AAMCO is everything
consumers want from a service repair facility
today,” he says, “which our research tells us
is one service provider they can trust for all of
their automotive repair needs. AAMCO has always
fit this bill for transmission repair, and it
became clear that the next step was to provide
more, and so we introduced Complete Car Care. This
line of services includes everything from brakes
and struts, to cooling system service, to exhaust
work, and more. It’s been a natural extension of
our brand, and the success we’ve had with it has
been tremendous.”
AAMCO
President Mark Wurth adds, “Our customers have
always known AAMCO as the expert in transmission
repair. Because we enjoy a solid reputation among
the driving public, and because we had a strong
foundation when we introduced the new line of
services, everything else has fallen into place.
Our franchisees are seeing impressive results.”
AAMCO is the world's largest chain of transmission specialists, with more than 735 franchise locations in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. AAMCO centers have serviced more than 25 million customers since the company's founding in 1963.For more information about AAMCO Transmissions and franchise opportunities, visit our web site at
